Emerging lingerie brand Bananain officially closed its first Beijing store in Sanlitun on January 5. Opened in September 2022, the two-story store covered over 380 sqm. The closure was due to the expiration of the lease, with the brand not yet confirming whether it will reopen in the area. Despite the closure, five other Bananain stores remain operational in Beijing. The brand, which has seen strong growth on e-commerce platforms, achieved sales of over 1 billion RMB ($136.5 million) in 2020, ranking among the top two in Tmall’s lingerie sector.
