China sees New Year travel surge as tourism rebounds
During this New Year holiday, border inspection agencies across the country handled a total of 1.803 million entries and exits of both domestic and international passengers, marking a 13.7% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the National Immigration Administration. Among them, 869,000 mainland residents traveled, a rise of 11.1% YoY; 749,000 residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, up by 12.8% YoY; and 185,000 foreign nationals, increasing by 33.6% YoY. A total of 67,000 transportation vehicles (aircraft, ships, trains, and vehicles) were inspected, showing a 14.7% YoY increase.
