Nike’s digital studio RTFKT will cease operations next month, as part of a business restructuring under new CEO Elliott Hill. The studio, known for blending sneaker culture, gaming, and Web3 technology, will maintain public access to its Ethereum-based tokens. RTFKT gained fame for its Clone X series, a collaboration with artist Takashi Murakami. Acquired by Nike in 2021, RTFKT was seen as a key player in expanding Nike’s digital presence. Before closing, RTFKT will release its final project, MNLTH X, and launch a virtual archive of its designs. The move may mark the end of Nike’s exploration into digital fashion.
