Due to economic downturns and geopolitical tensions, Italy’s menswear industry is facing export challenges. According to data from the Sistema Moda Italia research center, exports grew by only 2.7% YoY to 5.5 billion euros ($5.8 billion) in the first seven months of this year, while imports dropped significantly by 10.1% to 3.6 billion euros ($3.8 billion). By market, demand from France grew by 11.1%, making it the top export destination for Italian menswear. However, demand from Germany, Switzerland, and the UK saw noticeable declines. China, on the other hand, saw a significant 37.2% increase, moving up to become the fourth-largest market.
