Holiday retail in US, EU seen growing, despite challenges
Global e-commerce sales are expected to reach $6.3 trillion by year-end, a 9% YoY increase. According to a Prosper Insights survey, in the US, 52% of consumers plan to spend the same or less this holiday season, with 27% buying only discounted gifts. During the Black Friday to Cyber Monday period, US retail sales are predicted to rise 5% YoY, reaching $75 billion. However, North American and European data show that ineffective clicks remain high, with 438 invalid and 121 frustrated clicks per 1,000 sessions, underscoring the need for improved mobile experiences. Mobile commerce accounts for 60% of online shopping, and AI-driven personalized marketing is key for holiday season success.
