Taobao yesterday announced a 1 billion RMB ($140 million) investment to offer free shipping in Hong Kong. Consumers will enjoy free shipping on purchases over RMB99 ($14), with 92% of products now eligible for direct delivery in three to four days. The number of pick-up points and lockers will increase to 800. Taobao will also expand cross-border return services, allowing local returns at logistics points. Additionally, Taobao plans to open a 4,000 sqm experience center in Yau Tsim Mong District in early 2025 in collaboration with the Sino Group.
