Malaysia sees 194% surge in Chinese visitors after visa-free policy

Malaysia recorded 1,185,050 visitors from China from January to May, a 194% YoY increase attributed to the implementation of visa-free travel arrangements between the two countries, according to Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing. Malaysia introduced a 30-day visa-free entry for Chinese citizens on December 1 last year, extending it until the end of 2026.
