The UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, China’s leading independent contemporary art institution, has announced the opening of its newest museum, UCCA Clay, in October. Located in Yixing, known as the “City of Ceramics,” about two hours west of Shanghai, the 2,400-square-meter museum will focus on contemporary ceramic art and culture. UCCA Clay aims to promote exchanges between traditional local arts and customs practitioners and the global contemporary art scene.
