Visa-free entries to China surge 190% YoY in H1

Changes to China’s visa-free policy have significantly increased accessibility, with over 8.5 million visa-free entries from January to June, making up 52% of inbound travel and representing a 190% YoY increase. This surge benefits the tourism industry and signals a positive outlook for the broader services sector. Although current foreign visitor numbers remain below the pre-Covid-19 figure of 15.53 million for the same period in 2019, the potential for further growth is promising and warrants attention for future improvements.
