Luxury car brand Hongqi to launch electric models in UK by 2026
Hongqi, China’s oldest car brand, will enter the UK market in 2026 with two electric models, the EH7 saloon and EHS7 SUV. Founded in 1958 and owned by FAW, Hongqi is renowned for its luxury vehicles used by Chinese dignitaries. After expanding to Denmark, Sweden, and Norway in 2018, Hongqi aims to increase its European presence. The EH7 and EHS7, designed to rival the BMW 5 Series, offer dual-motor powertrains, fast-charging, rear-wheel steering, and air suspension.
