As the metaverse and Web 3.0 remain two of the most-discussed concepts today, brands from all sectors worldwide are moving into the virtual world to explore new market opportunities, new avenues of revenue generation, and access potential new customers. In order to further understand the growing ecosystem taking place within virtual fashion, dive into these talking points with a three-day webinar event: ‘Fashion in Web 3.0: Creativity, Sustainability and Gen-Z,’ hosted by Chinese creative and commercial platform Bond on Bund, consultancy agency Yehyehyeh, and Jing Daily. Fashion in Web 3.0: Creativity, Sustainability and Gen-Z One demographic in particular, which are demonstrating stark signs of interest and interactivity with Web 3.0 are the digital natives of Generation Z. But what is it that Gen-Z wants from the metaverse? And how are brands catering to this growing widespread demand while keeping up with the ever-evolving development of emerging technology? These new pathways of interaction require brands to re-strategize their roadmap and think outside of the box, particularly when it comes to digital fashion. Over the course of the event, the forum will host a panel of pioneers from all corners of the digital fashion world, such as speakers AUROBOROS, IoDF, Wolford, DRESSX, Dragon City, Digital Village, and RTFKT Studios, who will each share insights into the practices, techniques and inspiration behind their exploration of fashion technology and executing creative concepts in the metaverse. Day One — Creativity in Digital Fashion To kick off the event, representatives from digital fashion platforms and leading metaversal players, AURORAS and The Institute of Digital Fashion, will join to discuss and share their in-depth practices when it comes to creative practices in the virtual world. The panel including Paula Sello and Alissa Aulbekova, Founders of AUROBOROS; Shao Hao, Fosun AI Business Leader and Leanne Elliot-Young, Co-Founder and CEO at Institute of Digital Fashion, will explore how virtual technology can empower fashion design, alongside the tools Web 3.0 offers to designers searching for more diverse methods of presenting unrestrained creative works in the metaverse. Day Two — Sustainability in Web 3.0 The conversation surrounding sustainability in fashion isn’t going anywhere. Now, with the development of Web 3.0 and fashion’s virtual trajectory, the global consensus must consider what role the metaverse can play during these challenges. Day two will explore how virtual fashion can reduce the dependence on materials and textiles and work to create an environmentally-friendly eco-system, alongside dissecting how brands can leverage virtual technology and find more effective sustainable fashion solutions. Moderated by Shaway Yeh, the founder of yehyehyeh, it included a speaker from Austrian skinwear specialist Wolford, Silvia Azzali, the Chief Commercial Officer; Julien Rosilio, Head of Growth at fashion platform DRESSX and Roy Zou, Founder of Dragon City, the largest Chinese community on the virtual world platform Decentraland. Day Three — How to Attract Gen-Z with Web3.0 As digital natives, Gen-Z are becoming the new large group of consumers, spending more time in the virtual world and expecting brands to provide them with immersive experiences and personalized services. With this in mind, brands must incorporate strategies that aim to appeal to the demographic’s needs and connect with this younger generation of consumers. The final day of the event, moderated by Jing Daily’s Gemma A. Williams, will spotlight the importance of integration and community amongst Gen-Z digital natives, and how to implement these into a brand’s Web 3.0 plan.
