Ravenel's Autumn Auction In Taipei A Selling Success

Ravenel Pulls in US$20,775,622, Selling 84.58% Of Lots, With Value Of Lots Reaching 163.63% Over Estimate This weekend, Taiwanese auction house Ravenel held its Autumn Auction of Modern and Contemporary Asian art (which we covered last month) in Taipei, and according to results just published, the rising power of New Chinese Collectors and other highly motivated Asian buyers was well on display. With the auction bringing in an impressive $20.78 million US dollars, and paintings from Chinese artists like Zao Wou-Ki going well above estimates, the results of this Ravenel auction are consistent with those of recent Sotheby's and Christie's auctions.
