Zhang Ming, a political scientist from Renmin University, on First Lady Michelle Obama's announcement that she would not attend this week's summit between President Barack Obama and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. China's First Lady Peng Liyuan, a renowned performing artist often cited as a fashion icon, will be in attendance. The meeting of the first ladies had been highly anticipated by Chinese media.
