    FUQI To Create Cartoon Jewelry Products For Mainland Market

    FUQI International, one of China's leading jewelry producers, has launched a new campaign to manufacture, distribute and market a series of gold products based on the wildly popular Chinese cartoon characters "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" (喜羊羊与灰太狼).

    Though "luxury," " jewelry" and "cartoons" aren't words you typically see in the same sentence, FUQI International, one of China's leading jewelry producers, has announced a new campaign to manufacture, distribute and market a series of gold products based on the wildly popular Chinese cartoon characters "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" (喜羊羊与灰太狼).

    According to a company release, FUQI has signed a two year partnership with Infoport Management, which owns the distribution rights to the "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" series. Over the course of the partnership, FUQI will design, manufacture and distribute coins, bracelets, pendants and rings based on the animated characters from that show.

    Naturally, FUQI hopes to capture a younger market with these products. As Yu Kwai Chong, Chairman and CEO of FUQI International, said, "The Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf cartoon figures are pop icons in China and we expect this series of products to be welcomed by kids and a younger audience...We believe that a successful roll out of our animated product series can lead to potential development of other exclusive agreements with other popular characters."

    According to product manager Xu Zhu, FUQI plans to sell their "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf" products first in the company's branded retail outlets in top-tier cities, then use authorized dealers for a broader nationwide roll-out later this year.
