On View, “Entomology Cabinets And Paintings, Scalpel Blade Paintings And Colour Charts”#
Now on view through May 4th at Britain’s White Cube in Hong Kong, which opened in March of last year in the city’s Central district -- is Damien Hirst’s solo exhibition “Entomology Cabinets and Paintings, Scalpel Blade Paintings and Colour Charts,” featuring some of the artist’s newest works as well as cabinets and paintings from Hirst’s Entymology (2009) series and the more recent Scalpel Blade Paintings and Colour Charts. Exploring familiar motifs of science, pop culture, beauty, horror, existence, and the fragility of life, the exhibition ranges from kaleidoscopic cabinets of perfectly ordered butterflies, spiders, and bugs to mesmerizing color wheels.
