    Pop Art, Surrealism, and Cultural Heritage Protection Come To Greater China#

    Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal#

    Commemorating the 25th anniversary of Andy Warhol’s death, Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal brings to Asia the largest collection ever of the American Pop Artist’s oeuvre. The exhibition will feature over 300 paintings, photographs, screen prints, drawings, 3-D installations and sculptures, including key works like Jackie, Marilyn Monroe, Mao, Campbell's Soup, Silver Liz, The Last Supper, and Self-Portrait. The exhibition also includes Warhol’s infamous film and video works as well as his Time Capsules, which the artist filled daily with souvenirs, letters, newspapers and magazines, business records, photographs, and other ephemera from his life. In particular, content from Time Capsule - 23 will be on display in Hong Kong, highlighting items Warhol collected during his visit to the city in 1982. After Hong Kong, Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal will visit three more cities across Asia from 2013 to 2014 including Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo.

    Electric Fields: Surrealism and Beyond — La Collection du Centre Pompidou#

    Paris’ Centre Pompidou, one of the world’s leading contemporary and modern art museums, has joined forces with one of China’s newest public art museums, the Power Station of Art for Electric Fields: Surrealism and Beyond — La Collection du Centre Pompidou. Part of the 2012 Shanghai Biennale, Electric Fields boasts 65 cases worth of video art, paintings, sculptures, and manuscripts, which according to Xiang Liping, a spokesperson for Power Station of Art, are divided into six different themes of surrealism, featuring masters such as French Dadaist Marcel Duchamp.

    From January 9 - 15, BMW China will be host to the 2012 BMW China Culture Journey Achievement Exhibition at Beijing 798 Art Zone’s 100 TZ Arts Center to celebrate the protection of China’s cultural heritage and folk customs.
