Paris & Shanghai-Based Artist Recently Worked With Persol, Hogan, Gripoix
YOOX x Yi Zhou capsule collection
Following recent collaborations with Italian luxury brand Hogan, French jewelry house Gripoix, and luxury eyewear brand Persol, Shanghai-based Chinese artist Yi Zhou has teamed up with leading Italian e-tailer YOOX on a new “affordable couture” jewelry capsule collection. Ranging in price from US$240-650, the “Rippling Orchids Melody” collection includes six pieces in all, among them a necklace, brooch, ring, bracelet, a set of earrings, and hair band.
Echoing the collection’s titular reference to an ancient Chinese poem, the collection incorporates metallic and jeweled flower designs, at once classic and distinctly Chinese and global and modern — a trademark of the young artist. As Yi Zhou told the New Yooxer, her capsule collection can be summed up as “A Chinese rap. A modern-day hippie. A new Chinese style. Inspired by the idea that affordable couture should be part of our daily lives: on the beach, while watching tv, on the street, on vacation.”
