Last week, Italian online fashion retailer Yoox launched Armani’s Chinese-language e-commerce site. Following the launch, Yoox founder Federico Marchetti held a press conference to discuss the China strategy for Yoox, which builds sites for 23 fashion groups, as well as its own multi-brand site.

The basics can be found at Reuters, but Nels Frye of Stylites reports that the biggest takeaway from the press conference was that Yoox plans to insert RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tracking tags on all products sold in mainland China to guard against fakes. Also announced were Yoox’s plans for annually opening online boutiques for two to three of the brands it works with, as well as a Chinese version of its multi-brand site, The Corner.
