Owner Shauna Liu Inspired By Hong Kong's Mix Of Contemporary And Traditional, Europe's Unhurried Pace#

Beijing's 798 art district is known for many things: galleries, bookstores, coffee shops and cafes. But until recently the area's been without one thing typically found near the city's other tourist hotspots -- a hotel. To address this gap and cater to tourists or visiting collectors, gallerists or artists, Shauna Liu's boutique hotel, the Yi House, looks to set itself apart from Beijing's Sheratons and Hiltons, with interior design inspired by the East/West fusion of Hong Kong and an atmosphere echoing the pace and rhythm of Europe.
