    Shanghai Art Museum Hosts "Martell Artists Of The Year" Awards

    This week, the French cognac brand Martell held its "Martell Artists of the Year" awards at the Shanghai Art Museum, celebrating the work of four artists: painter Zhou Chunya, sculptor Liu Jianhua, fashion photographer Feng Hai, and French photographer Bettina Rheims.

    According to 99 Art Online, this event is the latest art-focused initiative by Martell, following the creation of the Martell Art Foundation in 2007 and this year's "Martell Today Art Forum," held in cooperation with Beijing's Today Art Museum.

    At the awards ceremony, the four [winning] artists were in attendance, sharing their ideas on artistic creation and creativity with invited guests.



    Adhering to Martell's enduring support for the art world and artists, in addition to these awards Martell created the Martell Art Foundation in 2007. The creation of this fund creation shows the Martell's commitment to the rapid and sustainable development of Chinese society and to actively contributing to the community.



    The first project undertaken by the Martell Art Foundation was a cooperation with the Central Academy of Fine Arts to set up scholarships to send young [Chinese] artistic talent to study in France. The fund also actively promotes the development of arts education in China and international exchange.



    In 2010, the Martell Art Foundation, worked with China's first private non-profit art museum, the Beijing Today Art Museum, to present the "Martell Today Art Forum"... [to] continue to promote the development of Chinese contemporary art.
