    Occupying the top floors of a swanky tower next to a restored pre-war architectural landmark minutes from the Bund, the Bulgari Shanghai is one of the city's most anticipated opening in 2018. Featuring lush touches the brand is famous for, this is Bulgari Hotel's second property in China after last year's Beijing opening.

    2. Bellagio Shanghai#

    The second Bellagio to open in the world, this riverfront property steps out of its Las Vegas sibling's shadows with designs that are contemporary yet stately. While the casino will not be replicated here, rich details will attract high rollers through its gilded doors.

    3. Middle House Shanghai#

    Offering 111 rooms and 102 residences, The Middle House is Swire Hotels' latest venture in China after Opposite House and Temple House opened in Beijing and Chengdu, respectively. Dressed in contemporary sleekness with the right cultural accents, this stylish hotel sets the way for grandeur in sync with the current mood of Shanghai.

    6. St Regis Shanghai#
