launches yet another creatively resourceful collaboration, this time with Parisian jeweler

    Shourouk#

, the eponymous label founded by Tunisian-bred Parisian designer Shourouk Rhaiem.

The fine jewelry collection, inspired by ancient Chinese symbols and contemporary pop influences, draws further inspiration from Shanghai Tang’s A/W 2012 women’s ready-to-wear collection, "The Dragon Plateau." Rich in material and textures, the collection -- which includes necklaces and brooches -- incorporates Shanghai Tang textiles, brass, leather, embroidered natural and enameled stones, and Swarovski Elements, coming together to create intensely tactile and vivid wearable gems.

This latest partnership with Shourouk is a testament to Shanghai Tang’s continuous efforts to distinguish itself from the competition through more than just in-house fashion. Former brand collaborations with Moleskine, Nespresso, and Colossi Cycling, as well as artistic collaborations with contemporary artist Huang Rui and charitable partnerships with Save China’s Tigers, Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, and Pink Revolution have burnished the Shanghai Tang name in more ways than one, associating the company with art, culture and philanthropy as well as style. As Shanghai Tang continues to look further afield to build its international prowess, we’ll be interested to see what the label comes up with next.
