will give Hong Kong art lovers the chance to feast their eyes on some of the most important pieces of Pop Art with the wide-ranging exhibition Pop Sensation. Tracing the development of Pop from its origins in 1950s US consumer culture to its half-century-long spread worldwide, the exhibition includes 50 works by leading post-war artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein as well as more recent proponents of the style, such as Thukral and Tagra and Cao Fei. Many of the works in the show have previously been exhibited at top museums and galleries including the Tate Modern, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Mori Museum, and the National Art Museum of China.

As Stephen McCoubrey, co-curator of the

    UBS Art Collection#

, said of the Hong Kong debut of Pop Sensation,"One of the great pleasures in curating a collection of this calibre is the opportunity it presents to provide access to great works of art to people from around the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to share major works from the collection with the public of Hong Kong, and to tell one of the most important stories of contemporary art at the same time."

Allen Lo, Chief Executive Officer of UBS Hong Kong Branch, said he hopes Hong Kong's notorious workaholics will make time in their busy schedules to give Pop Sensation a shot.

Said Lo, "We want as many people as possible to see these key works from the UBS Art Collection. Stephen and our team in Hong Kong have put together a highly stimulating show and I am confident the exhibition will be well received. With the UBS Hong Kong Open and Pop Sensation overlapping, UBS will provide both sporting and cultural entertainment for the Hong Kong public this November."
