In May 2017, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that China would hold the China International Import Expo (CIIE) beginning in 2018.
The Chinese government introduced CIIE to demonstrate its support of trade liberalization, economic globalization, and to actively open the Chinese market to the world. CIIE facilitates countries and regions all over the world to strengthen economic cooperation and trade, and to promote global trade and world economic growth in order to make the world economy more open.
Held at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center, CIIE 2019 will include an LVMH exhibition space. Announced March 25, the French luxury conglomerate’s pavilion will showcase its finest products and innovations, in addition to hosting daily talks, master classes, and product launches.
