Planning to be in Hong Kong, Beijing or Shanghai this New Year's Eve and still without plans? Here are a few of the events not to miss events in the notoriously nightlife-loving cities:

Jazz-Age Blowout at Three on the Bund#

The roaring twenties are the inspiration behind Three on the Bund's jazz-themed party on December 31, which features a five-course meal followed by a midnight countdown bash. Tickets for dinner run 900 yuan (US$144) in advance, while the countdown party will cost you 600 yuan in advance or 700 at the door. Tickets for both dinner and the party are 1,200 yuan, and include two hours of free-flow champagne, as well as unlimited wine, beer and cocktails all night. If you go, make sure to dress the part -- as communications manager Mulan Lam told the Global Times, the dress code for ladies is "sexy flapper, fringe, sequins, feathers and pearls while for gentlemen it is vintage mobster, black tie, pinstripes, suspenders, and fedoras."

Step Back in Time at the Blue Butcher#

Three on the Bund isn't the only place for a 1920s-themed bash, however, as Hong Kong's Blue Butcher Bar & Restaurant will hold its own champagne-soaked jazz blowout. Offering two seatings at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM, the event will run HK$1,280 (US$165) per person and features a Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque champagne reception, a live band and vintage photo booth. Dress code is "1920s Swing," so make sure to dress to impress.
