Participating Artists Include Liu Jianhua, Martin Parr And David Lynch
Dior’s traveling multimedia exhibition comes to Shanghai this week, featuring interpretations of the classic Lady Dior handbag by some of the world’s best-known photographers, filmmakers and visual artists. Taking place between May 13-June 15 in the central atrium at Shanghai’s Plaza 66 mall — site of last summer’s Chanel “Paris-Shanghai” exhibition — the Lady Dior exhibition includes works by Liu Jianhua (刘建华), Arne Quinze, Quentin Shih (时晓凡), Kohei Nawa, Olympia Scarry, Marteen Baas, Peter Lindberg, Alec Soth, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr, Ruven Afanador and David Lynch. (Who shot the oddly hypnotic short film/long advertisement, “Lady Blue Shanghai,” starring Marion Cotillard, in Shanghai last spring.)
One not to miss for any Shanghai-based fans of Dior — or the artists on display.
