    Although it remains very much a niche sport reserved mainly for the wealthy, golf has become big business in China over the past 20 years. The country now has around 300 golf courses, including the world's largest (Mission Hills Golf Club), and its golf industry is estimated to be worth around $7 billion annually and growing. Considering the vastness of the Chinese population, even if golf does remain an elite sport for years, even decades, to come, China may become the world's largest and most lucrative golfing market sooner than we may think.

    Today, Reuters looks at China's budding young golfers, the country's next generation of professional hopefuls -- whose parents often invest millions of yuan into their children's PGA dreams.
