    While many brands know how vital it is to be actively marketing on Chinese social media, it’s equally important that they do it right. On this week’s episode of Thoughtful China, Simon Young, principal for global relations at social media agency syENGAGE, discusses five key mistakes he’s seen many brands make on Chinese social media.

    The first one? “Trying to reach everyone at once,” says Young. “It’s really hard that will do something that will appeal to everyone.” He recommends that brands should take advantage of the data available to them to learn more about their customers in order to create “intriguing, personal experiences.” Watch the video embedded above to see the full interview.
