From October 7 to 9, luxury industry professionals from across the world will gather in Hong Kong for the world’s only trade event dedicated to cashmere and fine fibers.

Taking place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, the Cashmere World Forum 2015 will feature over 200 exhibitors from cashmere-supplying countries as well as a speaker program with industry experts hailing from Europe, the UK, China, South America, and Central Asia who will discuss the latest developments in the industry.

The connecting thread running through the whole Forum program is the concept of lightness—lightness in every sense as exemplified in the lightness and luxury of cashmere and other fine fibers in contrast to the “weighty” political and economic background the industry faces.

The keynote speaker of the Forum this year will be Mr. Anthony Keung of the Fenix Group, who will speak about the background of his company, how it evolved from manufacturing to retail, and how it adapted to economic changes by switching from the Japan market to the European and U.S, markets, and then to China and Korea. He will also share his views on the prospects of the China market, where he says his company’s retail brands are still growing. He is still optimistic about the China retail market, believing that the economic bubble in China is over and that the slowdown is a normal phenomenon.

Other topics of interest will cover:

    • The current supply and demand situation of cashmere and how its environmental impact could be lightened
    • A presentation on the hottest color trends to expect for 2016-2017
    • A discussion of Alpaca and the importance of its quality markets presented by the Executive Director of the International Alpaca Institute from Peru

As well as several other topics based around the central theme of “lightness.” You can view the ongoing development of the program and also register as a delegate on the official site.
