Luxury Concierge Service, Quintessentially, Partners With ART HK
Hong Kong’s premier international art fair, ART HK will run this year from May 26-29 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Following last year’s impressive fair, ART HK 11 will play host to a total of 260 galleries from 38 countries, showcasing the largest display of contemporary art ever seen in Hong Kong. Founded by British event organizer Tim Etchells in 2008, the event has reached new heights, with Art Basel rumored to be in discussions about possible collaborations. Last year, 46,000 people attended ART HK, up 60 percent from the previous year, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, which indicates the booming number of mainland Chinese collectors and art lovers who have increasingly flocked to Hong Kong for art events and auctions.
To aid these international and mainland Chinese collectors, this year ART HK has enlisted luxury concierge service, Quintessentially, as the official concierge partner for the fourth consecutive year. Aside from serving VIP visitors from over 40 different countries, Quintessentially will also give its members access to the ART HK Vernissage and invite-only VIP events. Additionally, Quintessentially will provide VIP visitors with an onsite and offsite concierge service, extending their local expertise and access in Hong Kong. The concierge service will be available 24 hours via a dedicated phone and email hotline. Quintessentially has also created a bilingual cityguide, covering dining, nightlife and shopping hotspots in Hong Kong.
ART HK itself will be incorporating luxury into this year’s program with the ART FUTURES feature, first introduced in 2009 and sponsored by luxury department store, Lane Crawford. ART FUTURES will showcase galleries established in or after 2006 that represent artists 35 years of age or younger. The best artist in ART FUTURES, as judged by an expert panel, will be awarded a cash prize at an upcoming private event at Lane Crawford’s IFC location, an event to which Quintessentially members will have access on an RSVP basis.
ART HK will also be promoting and supporting the Asian art scene via its ASIA ONE feature, opening a section for Asian galleries presenting solo shows by artists of Asian origin. The international art fair will also feature a variety of events including conversations led by the Asia Art Archive, printmaking demonstrations by the Hong Kong Open Printshop, and art tours directed at new collectors.
