Luxury E-Commerce Grows Steadily As Lower-End E-Tailers Battle It Out

China’s young e-commerce market may be booming — shoppers spent an estimated 19 billion yuan on Alibaba’s online platforms on November 11th alone — but owing to low profit margins, cut-throat competition and regular price wars, times remain tough for major domestic e-tailers. This week, Reuters speaks to Jing Daily columnist Torsten Stocker of the Monitor Group about the difficulties retailers are seeing in the Chinese e-commerce market despite exponential growth:
