In an interview with CNBC after Burberry's Prorsum Spring/Summer 2014 runway show, Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry, weighed in with her thoughts on the company's recovery from China's slowdown and crackdown on luxury gifting. “It's the new normal and we've budgeted for it,” she says of the current market conditions.

In the video embedded above, she also discusses the brand’s initial experience during the slowdown, stating, “It’s not just Burberry that was affected. I think Burberry’s the only one who was transparent and open about it, but the entire sector was affected. I think it’s one of the reasons we’ve bounced back so nicely." She also talks about the company’s plans for opening China flagships and its overall strategy for emerging markets.

With an eye on the China market, Burberry Prorsum’s show was broadcast online and disseminated on Sina Weibo, Douban and Youku, and featured Chinese models Liu Wen and Xiao Wen Ju.
