    Bentley China Sales Surge 26% In First Nine Months Of 2012

    , which announced today that sales as of the end of September had reached 5,969 units, a 25 percent increase year-on-year, up from 4,759 in 2011. With 1,750 deliveries, the Americas has retained its position as Bentley's top market, yet demand in China -- briefly the marque's #1 market earlier this year -- also continues to grow, with 1,525 deliveries in the first nine months of the year, a 26 percent increase over last year. Double-digit growth was seen across the board in all of Bentley's top markets, with European deliveries rising 20 percent to 950 cars and UK deliveries rising 10 percent to 854 cars.

    Elsewhere, deliveries increased by 43 percent in the Middle East (531 cars) and an impressive 69 percent in Japan (130 cars).

    As Kevin Rose, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales said of this week's report,“Sales have been driven by new model introductions including the Continental GT and GTC V8 which are now arriving with customers. In addition we have seen a very robust performance from our four door vehicles with Mulsanne deliveries up by over 15 percent and Flying Spur sales up by 5 percent.”

    With the upcoming release of the new GT Speed at the end of this month, the British automaker said this week that it expects a "strong finish to 2012."
